Welcome to Wildlife 2020 Updates

TAKE THE CORVID 19 CHALLENGE!

Corvid Challenge Hero

These past few weeks have been a great challenge for all of us–but we are trying to adapt. While Welcome to Wildlife programming is paused for now, we won't let that stop your kids from exploring the natural world. If everyone in your family is feeling healthy, it's a great idea to visit your locals parks–while keeping a safe social distance from others. Exercise, explore, and breathe in that fresh air!

Welcome to Wildlife Directors, Rocio and Elena, are aiming to create a weekly video and fun activities to do outside at Peralta Hacienda or in your own neighborhood. Every week at Welcome to Wildlife, we focus on a different organism in the urban habitat: birds, grass, fungus, and this week: corvids. A special family of birds that are well-adapted to city life. Watch our goofy video (click image above), download the sheets (see below), and try out this week's activity: The Corvid 19 Challenge! We know this isn't a replacement for the all-day fun with friends in the program, but we hope you keep exploring until we meet again!

Taking Precautions Amid COVID-19

Dear Welcome to Wildlife Community,

Peralta Hacienda is following State and County recommendations about COVID-19 and will continue to prioritize the safety of our community.

Welcome to Wildlife has been paused for until we are instructed otherwise by Health Officials. W2W staff is working hard adapting plans so that you can come to the Peralta Hacienda Historical Park and do self-guided W2W activities! (If you’re feeling well enough, of course!) Check this space in the upcoming days for more information.

Please remember to wash your hands frequently and to avoid touching your face and shaking hands. If you are feeling unwell or exhibiting flu-like symptoms, stay at home. Thank you for helping us all stay healthy. If you have any questions about how Peralta Hacienda is responding to the COVID-19, feel free to reach out to info@peraltahacienda.org.

Stay safe,

Welcome to Wildlife & Peralta Hacienda Staff
